We just finished work on a new TV ad for MARS/M&Ms “My M&M’s” campaign. This will be the third M&M’s spot to have a Mayfair soundtrack. This time, not only can you get your own words printed on the tiny chocolate candies, you can have pictures of your face printed too! HOT!

Check out the burning motion graphics piece Coudal Partners put together showcasing their recent Adobe sponsored Layer Tennis matches where they pit illustrator against illustrator, photog vs photog, etc… in as close to a sport as design work goes. If you haven’t checked out layer Tennis before, prepare to forget anything else you planned for your Friday afternoons.

You’ll notice the Mayfair Workshop gets a visual shout out around the middle of the video. Mayfair’s Mark Greenberg helped out a few weeks back composing the ever building soundtrack as two photographers (Hamid vs Javanrouh) battled it out. Every ten minutes a new image was added in reaction to the last and the soundtrack grew along with each progression. Fun! Thanks Steve and Jim!

Mayfair composer Paul Von Mertens has been working in the studio with the legendary Brian Wilson on a new CD. It’s a collection of George Gershwin songs produced by Mr. Wilson and also features two new Wilson/Gershwin collaborations derived from unpublished “trunk songs” from the Gershwin estate which have been completed by Brian. Paul is playing, conducting and writing orchestration for the project. Amazing! Can’t wait to hear it!
